Ultimate Reverence
"Luangta" Writing
An excerpt of the sermon given by the Venerable
Luangta Maha Bua Yannasampanno regarding his two books ….
“It’s difficult to search out the story of the teacher’s life.
I dedicated with all my heart to write “the Biography
of the Venerable Acariya Mun (Phra Acharn Mun)”. I
even took the trouble to learn typing. I had never been interested
in typing. When reaching the speed of 40 words/minute, I decided
that it should be enough. Then, I typed the biography of Phra
Acharn Mun, followed by the book “Patipada” (the
Mode of Practice of Venerable Acharn Mun). After these
two books, I threw away the typewriter.
I did that out of ultimate reverence . I emphasized
with the printing house not to do any proofreading, as I had
already done that. They were told to use exactly the same fonts.
It was ultimate reverence. Nothing could be added, nor to be
deleted. As I had searched out for several years to get the story
of his life. I had to search out from those who used to be with
him, writing them down, then typing. So, that was the ultimate
reverence. It is to my satisfaction that I had served
Phra Acharn Mun since when he was alive, then, to write his biography.”
